moving into wood
with the cement phase completed, and the plumbing mostly done, a crew of carpenters started working on the interior according to the plan worked out with haverstick designs, a renowned u.s. acoustics firm. i had a couple of dozen video conferences with the able team of gavin haverstick, oscar otero, and tracy roberts. they came up with a detailed set of drawings and photorealistic visualizations which are being used to complete the studio. the initial phase of blocking out the basic frames went quickly, but as i was to realize, there remained the much slower detail work of making bass traps, absorbers, and especially the two flex rooms, which none of the parties involved had ever attempted before.
