break on through to the other side

march and april were about establishing connections between spaces. the control room window was completed, connecting it visually to the recording room. it is raised above the large recording room, which gives it a bit of an abbey road studio “a” vibe, known to many of my generation due to the beatles’ worldcast of “all you need is love” having been performed there in 1967. actually, the idea of a live performance in a recording studio is exactly what am i going for.

at the same time, work proceeded on the five skylights, a nice little feature that allows daylight into the drum and piano booths, as well as the space overall. workers also fitted the steel frame for the front doors, which are of glass and again allow daylight to stream into the studio.
